I have a friend who swears by 10min weight training sessions. She’s gained muscle, feels great and doesn’t do the 30/45+ min workout. I’ve been trying to incorporate this approach. To remind myself that exercise doesn’t have to be ‘hard’ or make me super tired. Sometimes the stress of that isn’t actually helpful. No rules with movement :) Also, if you like hiking and are thinking about running, trail running is a blast! It’s a lot of walk/running, you do what you want and it’s pretty. People don’t care about their times too (at least the trail running groups I do).

I feel like I needed to watch this. I'm at a place in my life where I can workout but don't. Listening to your point of view and seeing that I don't have to work out every day is what I needed to hear. I walk every day and am very active at work but seems to get into a head space of all or nothing when it comes to working out. I'm definitely going to try a new approach to it.

For docs I’ve had the most luck with moleskin, the sticky stuff that goes on the back of your ankles :) definitely is a process to break them in tho and takes a lot of dedication to getting them to become comfortable

Im with you Carrie. About a year ago I hit my heaviest, 5’7, 195, size 14-16. I was so uncomfortable. Poor mental space… but. I gave in and I hit the gym. Started cycling daily. For an entire hour. Started using the assisted weight machines. I’ve gone 200 times since last June! I’m 37, so the progress has been slow. I quit drinking for 100 days, went low carb for a couple months. Now I just eat and drink less. Also, I do the elliptical now and rowing, because I too don’t love running. And you can get runners high with any cardio workout. But the elliptical is super fun once you get in the groove. It’s like dancing like no one’s watching. Shoot for an hour of weights 3-5x and cardio 3 days a week. Take time to rest. My doctor advised to do more weights than cardio, and that’s what I do. Try to spend about 1.5-2 hours just doing you. Just get in the groove and you’ll stick with it. As far as progress goes, I mostly just feel better, look better in pictures, and can wear more clothes as a size 10 and on my way to an 8. I don’t weigh myself. Don’t over think it. You can do it. Just do it and leave the camera at home. It’s worth it… just think, to be in the best shape of your life at 40 or starting at 40. That’s where I was. Sorry for blabbing but I know what you’re going through. You can do it!!! And don’t forget your protein and fiber!

I hit my 30’s and the underwires went away for me too. Now, 16 years later, I wear items for comfort… the wireless bras are getting better, they’re making them more lifting and separating so you can still have shape and definition. But honestly, this life is too short to spend it in uncomfortable clothing!

I bought several pairs of linen pants at the thrift store last winter because I had this idealized style for Summer Me in my head. By spring I had redonated all 3 pairs because I came to my senses (linen is so itchy for me and Coastal Granddaughter isn’t my favorite clothing style for myself). We’ve all been there 💀😭

PCOS girly here :) For my i find that having a breakfast that is really high in proteins helps a lot. I also tried going glutenfree (which is recommend quite often on the internet) but i didn't notice any changes tbh :D expect for less joy in my life maybe. However, i do try do avoid wheat and focus on whole grain. I heard that for some people metformin is recommend and helps them, i took for about 4 weeks and then i had to stop because i had MASSIVE side effects.

Okay I just have to say you slay in the first outfit and the pink and blue top after it would have gone cute with those pants too. ICONIC ❤

I love you carrie and I'm always here for what you have to say, but if you're eating processed carbs (pastas, breads etc) ALL the time, like daily, it's important to understand how those foods directly correlate to things like PCOS and SIBO. I know its an uncomfy thing to think about but the things we put into our body have a direct effect to the illnesses that befall us.
